That is why most employers result in micromanaging employees and closely monitoring what they are doing. Unfortunately, this makes employees feel like they are not trusted to deliver on their roles, which can lead to frustrations and employees jumping ship.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"E56\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Productivity_help\"><\/span><span id=\"E57\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">Productivity help<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p id=\"E58\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><span id=\"E59\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">The truth is that no one can stay focused all around the clock, every day of the week. Few distractions here and there can\u2019t hurt productivity. You only need to be alarmed and take action if it becomes persistent. However, you need to be careful not to end up frustrating your employees trying to refocus them. You need to <\/span><a id=\"E60\" contenteditable=\"false\" href=\"https:\/\/iqdoodle.com\/think-creatively\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span id=\"E61\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">think creatively<\/span><\/a><span id=\"E62\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\"> on ways to refocus them for increased productivity without sending negative vibes. However, there are still things you can do yourself. He or she will have to leave their desk to your office or take time out to make a phone call or send an email asking for clarification. It can be difficult to gain back focus after such a distraction. What was meant to be a quick clarification can turn into an hour of wasted time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E71\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><span id=\"E72\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">This is a distraction that can be avoided if only you provided clear expectations from the word go. It is important to ensure that employees know what is expected of them including deadlines. In addition, ensure that the employees are well equipped, and have all the information they need to handle their tasks.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"E73\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Shake_up_the_routines_and_roles\"><\/span><span id=\"E74\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">2.<\/span><span id=\"E75\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\"> <\/span><span id=\"E76\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">Shake up the routines and roles<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p id=\"E77\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><span id=\"E78\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">Monotony can be the number one cause of distractions. If employees wake up to the same routine every single day, they are more likely to look for distractions that can shake up things a little bit. That is why most end up <\/span><span id=\"E79\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">browsing social media for hours<\/span><span id=\"E80\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\"> on end in order to break the routine.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"pageBorders\" class=\"style-scope qowt-page\" contenteditable=\"false\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div id=\"contentsContainer\" class=\"style-scope qowt-page\">\n<div id=\"contents\" class=\"style-scope qowt-page\">\n<p id=\"E81\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0 x-scope qowt-word-para-0 x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><span id=\"E82\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">Switching up duties regularly helps <\/span><span id=\"E83\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">keep employees excited about new challenges<\/span><span id=\"E84\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">. This can be a good way to break their routine and offer them a chance to learn new skills. You can also allow them to work in alternative spaces to break the monotony of working in the office all year round. You can\u2019t continually demand their hours and expect the other aspects of their lives to be okay. Allow them flexible hours so they can improve their work-life balance. This will also give them <\/span><span id=\"E100\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">the chance to work on their <\/span><a id=\"E101\" contenteditable=\"false\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/education-and-careers\/0\/how-to-have-a-social-life---but-still-succeed-at-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span id=\"E102\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">social lives<\/span><\/a><span id=\"E103\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">, which is very important for their mental health.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"E104\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-1\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Encourage_breaks\"><\/span><span id=\"E105\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">4.<\/span><span id=\"E106\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\"> <\/span><span id=\"E107\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">Encourage breaks<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p id=\"E108\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><span id=\"E109\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\"> If you are the kind of employer who applauds people for the many hours you have seen them on their desks, you are fuelling distractions that lead to decreased productivity. The truth is that people can only stay focused for an hour or so. After that, they will be busy with other things in a bid to relax the mind, especially when tackling a difficult task.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E110\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><span id=\"E111\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">You need to insist on the importance of taking regular breaks. Include spaces that encourage people to move away from their desks. A breakout room, for instance, tells employees that it is okay to take a break without the fear of being reprimanded. A few minute\u2019s breaks from the desk can do wonders on the mind, and allow the employees to reenergize and fire through tasks afterwards. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E112\" class=\"x-scope qowt-word-para-0\"><span id=\"E113\" class=\"qowt-font2-TimesNewRoman\">Finally, employees find it easy to look for distractions if they aren\u2019t fully committed to their roles. This can be brought about by a lack of engagement in the workplace.
