The duration of the pass is up to 2 years for first-time candidates. As of 1 July 2017, subsequent renewals of the pass are for a duration of up to 3 years. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no foreign worker levy or quota associated with the Employment Pass. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_is_eligible_eligibility_for_employment_pass\"><\/span>Who is eligible \/ <span class=\"  \" title=\"eligibility for employment pass\">eligibility for employment pass<\/span>?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mom.gov.sg\/passes-and-permits\/employment-pass\/eligibility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">criteria<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that foreign professionals have to meet in order to be eligible for the Employment Pass include the following: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have a job offer in Singapore;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">work in a managerial, executive, or specialised job;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">earn a\u00a0fixed monthly salary\u00a0of at least SGD 3,600 (more experienced candidates need higher salaries); and<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have acceptable qualifications, usually a good university degree, professional qualifications, or specialist skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the minimum monthly salary is SGD 3,600, candidates who are older and more experienced will need higher salaries to qualify. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To assess whether the candidate you are looking to hire qualifies for a pass, use the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mom.gov.sg\/eservices\/services\/employment-s-pass-self-assessment-tool\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Self-Assessment Tool<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SAT) provided by the Ministry of Manpower. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_can_apply\"><\/span>Who can apply?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As an employer, either you or an authorised third party (usually an appointed employment agent) needs to apply on behalf of the candidate that you intend to hire as employee in singapour.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are an overseas employer without a registered office in Singapore, you need to get a Singapore-registered company to act as a local sponsor who will apply on your behalf. When the pass is issued, the cost for each pass is SGD 150. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mom.gov.sg\/passes-and-permits\/employment-pass\/apply-for-a-pass#submit-an-application\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apply for an Employment Pass online<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"S-Pass\"><\/span>S-Pass<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The S-Pass is for mid-skilled technical staff who meet the eligibility criteria. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Who is eligible?<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The S Pass is for\u00a0mid-skilled foreign employees\u00a0(e.g. technicians) who meet these criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fixed monthly salary\u00a0of\u00a0at least SGD 2,200. The salary should reflect work experience. Older, more experienced applicants need higher salaries to qualify;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a degree or diploma. Technical certificates, such as courses for qualified technicians or specialists, will be considered. The certification should include at least 1 year of full-time study; and<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">years of relevant work experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applications for an S Pass are open to all nationalities.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Who can apply?<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As an employer, either you or an authorised third party (usually an appointed employment agent) needs to apply on behalf of the candidate that you intend to hire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are an overseas employer without a registered office in Singapore, you need to get a Singapore-registered company to act as a local sponsor who will apply on your behalf.
